GREMS RIDES SCOTT TO THE STREETS

Scott has teamed up with GREMS, one of today’s most exciting young artists, to take art to the streets. The versatile French designer, rapper, graffiti stylist and all-around talent puts his gifts to work in a broad range of mediums, and the unpredictable outcome carves out new spaces for creative endeavour. With freehand signs, bold lettering, dynamic graphics and a playful sense of humour, GREMS stamps his unmistakable signature look onto everything he makes. The French artist’s latest challenge was to take his art to the streets - on a bicycle! For the Scott Urban Bike Collection 2012, GREMS designed not one but two exclusive bikes: one Scott OTG (a so-called “fixie”), and one Scott SUB.

OTG - Scott launches fixed gear bikes

Scott presents its first two fixed-gear bikes, OTG 10 and OTG 20 GREMS. Fixies are the latest trend in the urban cycle commuter world. Rolling simplicity and efficiency into one, the new Scott fixies are equipped with only one gear and no free wheel mechanism, which means that the pedals are constantly in motion. To achieve the comfort and safety of a free-wheel mechanism, the back wheel can easily be installed the other way around. Now the days of slipping gears are gone, and lazy coasting has become impossible. Another positive development is that the small number of components means fixies are light and virtually maintainance-free. To control the speed you simply pedal faster or slower - for fun and freedom in a way you’ve never felt before.

The Scott SUB by GREMS adds the French artist’s signature to a work of superb technology.
